What it actually costs.
Only traffic and storage over the free quota are billed — never the whole amount. All prices in USD.
| Monthly usage | WarpDirect + WarpSync | WarpShare | Monthly total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free 1 TB traffic · 200 GB storage | $0 | $0 | $0 |
| 2 TB traffic · 200 GB storage | $5 | $0 | $5 |
| 1 TB traffic · 500 GB storage | $0 | $9 | $9 |
| 5 TB traffic · 1 TB storage | $20 | $24 | $44 |
| 10 TB traffic · 2 TB storage | $45 | $54 | $99 |
Traffic is $5 per TB ($0.005/GB) over the free quota. Storage is $30 per TB·month ($0.030/GB·month) over the free quota. ~18× cheaper than AWS S3 egress.
Spend cap
Worried about a surprise bill? Set a cap.
Every PAYG account ships with a spend cap — defaulted to $100/month and adjustable anywhere from $0 (no overage allowed) up to $10,000/month. Or turn it off and let it run uncapped. You're always in control.
- ✓ Default $100/month cap out of the box
- ✓ Dial it anywhere from $0 to $10,000/month
- ✓ Hits the cap → transfers pause until next cycle
- ✓ Billing cycle resets on the 1st of each month (UTC)

Billing & pricing
How do I know how much I've used?
The Billing page in the app shows your current-month traffic and storage in real time, plus an estimated bill that updates as you use WarpSend. You'll always see how close you are to the free quota (and to your spend cap, if you've set one) before any charges happen.
What happens when I go over the free quota?
If PAYG is on, transfers continue — you're billed $5 per TB over the 1 TB traffic quota, and $30 per TB·month over the 200 GB storage quota. If PAYG is off, new uploads and transfers are blocked once you hit the limit, but previously uploaded share links stay downloadable until their 7-day retention ends.
When does the free quota reset?
Every month, on the 1st at 00:00 UTC. Traffic usage resets to zero. Storage is measured fresh at reset — whatever you're storing at that moment counts for the new month. Your billing cycle is anchored to the 1st as well, so there are no prorated surprises.
Can I cap my monthly spend?
Yes. Every PAYG account comes with a spend cap — set to $100/month by default, adjustable from $0 (no overage allowed) up to $10,000/month, or uncapped. When you're about to hit the cap, new transfers pause until the next billing cycle or until you raise it.
Can I stack the free quota across multiple orgs?
No. The free quota is shared across your account — every organization you own draws from the same 1 TB traffic and 200 GB storage. Creating extra orgs doesn't multiply your free allowance.
How do I cancel PAYG?
Two options from the Billing page. Cancel at end-of-period (default) — PAYG stays active until the end of the current month, then you return to Free. Or cancel immediately — the subscription ends right away. In both cases, you keep the Free tier and any share links retained under its 7-day window.
What happens if a payment fails?
You have a 3-day grace period to update your payment method — transfers work normally during that window. After 3 days, new uploads and transfers are blocked, but files you've already uploaded remain downloadable until their retention window ends. Update the card and everything resumes.
Do I need a credit card to get started?
No. The Free tier — 1 TB traffic and 200 GB storage every month — is available without a card. You only add payment when you opt in to PAYG to cover usage over the free quota.
Features
Does the recipient need to install WarpSend?
If you're sending a Share link, no — anyone can download it from a browser, no account or app required. If you're sending peer-to-peer with Send, both sides need WarpSend installed.
Do Cloud Share links expire?
On Free, share links expire 7 days after upload. Once you enable PAYG, links stay active as long as your subscription is active — no automatic expiry. If a link is deleted or PAYG is turned off, the file is removed from storage shortly after.
Which operating systems are supported?
WarpSend supports macOS, Windows, and Linux. NAS users can install directly from Synology Package Center or QNAP App Center.
Technical
Do I need to open ports or configure my router?
No. WarpSend establishes direct connections between your devices automatically — no port forwarding, no router changes, no IT department needed. It just works behind any firewall.
Is my data encrypted and secure?
Yes. All transfers are end-to-end encrypted. Files stored in the cloud are encrypted at rest using AES-256. We never have access to the content of your files.
How do I install WarpSend on Synology or QNAP?
Open Synology Package Center or QNAP App Center, search for WarpSend, and install with one click. No command line, no manual configuration required.
